Today, another flood of freshly pressed discs will hit the shelves at your favorite movie dealer. This week three movies, managed to catch my attention, thus my hard earned money as well.
Stonehenge Apocalypse (Sci-fi)
The reason to why you should see this SyFy-movie, is that our favorite Angel from Supernatural Castiel (Misha Collins), stars in it. However, he does not play an angel in this one, though.
In Stonehenge Apocalypse, Collins plays Jacob Glaser, a disgraced scientist who goes to Stonehenge and accidently triggers an ancient terraforming machine, which threatens to send the earth down the toilet, if it’s not stopped.
Stonehenge Apocalypse, which has an IMDB rating of 4.2 drew roughly two million viewers to their TVs’ during its premiere.
Stonehenge Apocalypse Trailer
This is not, contrary to popular belief, an M. Night Shyamalan movie. The only thing that Shyamalan contributed to this, besides his name, was the story. It was in fact directed by the Quarantine director John Erick Dowdle, following a script written by Brian Nelson (30 Days of Night).
So if the only reason you have given this one a bland look, then you should look again, since this story sounds really interesting.
The story revolves around five people, unknown to each other, who gets trapped in an elevator. Shortly afterwards, horrible things start to happen in the elevator and someone is clearly not who they appear to be.
Currently Devil has a rating of 6.5 @ IMDB.
The Horde (Zombie)
The Horde is a French award winning zombie flick, directed by Yannick Dahan and Benjamin Rocher. I find the story, which contains a brutal mix of gangsters, cops and zombies, appealing.
In The Horde we follow a group of police officers, as they set out to take down a notorious drug dealer and a cop killer. Unfortunately, the mission fails and the officers are captured by the gangsters. Suddenly, a zombie apocalypse breaks out and the cops and criminals must form an unlikely alliance to survive, to stay alive.
Currently The Horde has a rating of 6.0 @ IMDB.
